Salon Pure Travels
Salon Pure traveled to Montreal, Canada again this March for the second year to revisit the 2011 ABA Hair Show. New trends and styles were on the rise this year with very short and voluminous hair. New color trends include platinum blondes with silver, grey and pink tones. Bright bold streaks are still very popular as well. A lot of the hair cuts were un-conservative and avant-garde trends to keep up with the generation. Once again, the trip for Salon Pure was a great success!
A little bit about the ABA show:
The ABA provides a wide range of educational seminars featuring prominent speakers and educators from around the world. Between the ABA main stage presentations and classroom seminars, there is enough variety to satisfy even the most discerning beauty professional. Most beauty industry insiders consider the ABA Shows to be the most important trade shows of the year. They deliver an international standard of education that would otherwise be unavailable to the average salon professional. In short, the ABA Shows provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills essential to staying abreast of change in the competitive and constantly evolving beauty industry. The ABA’s efforts ensure that beauty professionals who attend the shows take the most up-to-date products, trends and techniques back to their clientele.
The Competition:
To top off the expo, the ABA holds a hair competition at the end of the evening. There are many rules and regulations to be follow from contestants who have been previously enrolled. The competition itself has three categories, including, Women’s Avant-Garde cutting & styling, Men’s Avant-Garde cutting & styling, and Evening Long Hair Elegance. They perform their skills in front of an audience and in a specific amount of time. We get to watch every bit! It’s intricate, creative and very fun! An experience any professional would love to have, and one that we feel very fortunate to have experienced. Please take a look at all the photos we have provided and share a piece of our experience!
